BOBBY LEWIS DIES
LOS ANGELES (AP) - The man behind the 1961 hit “Tossin’ and Turnin’” has died. Billboard magazine confirms Bobby Lewis died April 28 after contracting pneumonia. He was 95. Lewis grew up in an orphanage and ran away from a foster home at age 14 to become a singer. “Tossin’ and Turnin’” was number one for seven weeks in 1961, which was unusually long for that era. Lewis had only one other hit, “One Track Mind,” which peaked at number 9 in 1961. Although he had vision problems late in life, Lewis performed shows into his 80s.

BLUES SINGER SAYS SHE’S BEEN LADY A FOR 20 YEARS
NEW YORK (AP) - There may be one thing Lady Antebellum failed to consider when they changed their name to Lady A: someone else might already be using that name. Rolling Stone magazine reports a Seattle blues singer named Anita White has been performing as Lady A for more than two decades. She says the group never contacted her before announcing the name change last week. White says it’s ironic the group changed the name to support racial equality and took it from her, an African American woman. White has released several albums as Lady A and holds a business trademark for Lady A LLC. She plans to consult a lawyer this week. A representative for the group says they will reach out to White.

Her husband, 29-year-old Tyler J. Dunning, was a passenger in the vehicle. He was airlifted to a Nashville hospital, but his condition is not known.
