Red Gerard may be the only one of the seven Gerard children to have an Olympic gold medal. Still, the 17-year-old snowboarder has got some catching up to do if he wants to compete with older sister Tieghan on social media.

While Gerard’s social media footprint figures to grow after his electric run to gold in the slopestyle final - he began the biggest day of his professional life with around 91,000 followers on Instagram - he’s gonna need a serious post-Olympic boost to reach the kind of audience 24-year-old Tieghan has built through her popular food blog

Tieghan Gerard started the blog in 2012, which focuses on simple, seasonal recipes made with whole foods. Her work has been featured on the Food Network, the Cooking Channel and HGTV among others and she published a well-received cookbook last fall.

Her passion for food - and the eye-catching videos featured on her social media sites - has pushed her to a nearly 500,000 followers on Instagram.

Still, she wasn’t afraid to spread the love on the biggest day of her younger brother’s life, giving him a shout-out while joining 17 other friends and family members who made the trek from Colorado to Korea.

Gerard will have a chance to double his gold medal haul as a heavy contender in Big Air when it makes its Olympic debut later in the Games.

Either way, there will be plenty of options to choose from for a celebration when Gerard gets back home in a few weeks.

Just throwing this out there ... because ... cookies.
