TRACEE ELLIS ROSS GETS A TUCK-IN IN “HIGH NOTE”
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Tracee Ellis Ross had an uncomfortable bedroom scene with Dakota Johnson in their new film, “High Note,” but it was nothing sexy. Johnson had to tuck Ross into bed. Ross says she could not help feeling how awkward it was. Ross plays a famous musician and Johnson plays her assistant. Ross says in real life, she has a great relationship with her assistants, but they keep it professional. She says she’d never ask her assistant to come into the bathroom with her, like in the movie. “High Note” is out today for on-demand streaming.

CHRIS ROCK AND ROSIE PEREZ STAR IN SOCIAL DISTANCING ADS
NEW YORK (AP) - Actors Rosie Perez and Chris Rock will star in ads urging New Yorkers to wear face coverings and to get tested for the coronavirus now that testing is more widely available. Rock joked he was tested before yesterday’s news conference with Governor Andrew Cuomo and added, “I got a 65.” Rock admits that he doesn’t confront people he sees on the street who aren’t wearing masks. Instead, he said he gives them “a nice side-eye.” Perez said she will add a little levity when she sees people without masks. She said she’ll say, “Hey! Do the right thing! Put your mask on!”

AMC DRAMA REVISITS 'MILLIONAIRE' QUIZ SHOW COUGHING SCANDAL
LOS ANGELES (AP) - In 2001, a couple was accused of cheating their way to the top prize on the British version of TV's “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.” The alleged scheme: signaling the correct multiple-choice answers by coughing. The headline-making chapter is dramatized in AMC’s “Quiz,” a three-part series that looks at Charles and Diana Ingram and their painful fall with a deft combination of satire and humanity. Starring Matthew Macfadyen, Sian Clifford and Michael Sheen, the series debuts Sunday night. Macfadyen says he and Clifford, who play the Ingrams, went back and forth on the issue of their guilt or innocence.
WITH A GAY PROTAGONIST, PIXAR SHORT 'OUT' MAKES HISTORY
NEW YORK (AP) - The nine-minute Pixar short “Out” features the animation studio's first LGBTQ protagonist. “Out” is a small movie on the Disney Plus streaming service, not one of Pixar’s global blockbusters. But it has already had an outsized impact and has been celebrated as a milestone for inclusion in family entertainment. GLAAD called it “a huge step forward for the Walt Disney Company.” For its director, Steven Clay Hunter, “Out” is a deeply personal film loosely based on his own coming out. It’s about a man named Greg who, in the course of switching bodies with his dog, discovers the courage to reveal his sexual orientation to his parents.

Donations will benefit Asian arts organizations in both countries. ABC series “Fresh Off the Boat,” which starred Randall Park and Constance Wu, ended in February after six seasons.
NEW NOVEL COMING IN 2021 FROM AUTHOR OF 'THE REVENANT'
NEW YORK (AP) - The author of “The Revenant,” the historical novel adapted into the Oscar-winning movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio, will be publishing his first new work of fiction in nearly 20 years. Henry Holt and Company announced Thursday that Michael Punke’s “Ridgeline” will be released in June 2021. The book is set in the American West in the 1860s. “The Revenant,” his previous novel, came out in 2002 and told the story of a frontiersman in the Missouri Territory in the 1820s. It was adapted into a 2015 film of the same name and brought DiCaprio an Academy Award for best actor.
