NO BROADWAY SHOWS UNTIL AFTER LABOR DAY
NEW YORK (AP) — The lights on Broadway will stay dim through summer. The Broadway League says no shows will hit the boards in New York before Labor Day. And even then, there is no set date yet for shows to reopen. Broadway has been shut down since Mar. 12, as the new coronavirus began spreading in New York and elsewhere. Those with tickets can get refunds or exchanges.

“BOMBSHELL” TO RETURN
NEW YORK (AP) — The cast of “Bombshell” is reuniting. The players in the fictional Broadway musical about Marilyn Monroe are gathering again to help those coping with the coronavirus. Actors including Katharine McPhee, Debra Messing and Megan Hilty will reunite May 20 to present a stream of the one-night-only 2015 Broadway concert as part of the TV show “Smash.” It will be on People.com, PeopleTV and on the magazine’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
JETHRO TULL’S FRONTMAN SAYS HE HAS INCURABLE COPD
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Ian Anderson is blaming 50 years of being on stage with smoke machines for a health problem he says will eventually kill him. The Jethro Tull frontman says he has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which he says he was diagnosed with a few years ago. He says it’s “incurable.” In an interview on “The Big Interview with Dan Rather” airing on AXS today, Anderson says his “days are numbered.”

NEW STADIUM IN TEXAS WILL OPEN WITH CONCERT
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Ever been to a drive-in concert? People in Texas will get the chance to do that next month. A group of country stars will be do a series of drive-in shows in the parking lot of the Texas Rangers’ new stadium in Arlington. Acts slated to play June 4-7 at Globe Life Field are the Eli Young Band, Whiskey Myers, the Josh Abbott Band and Kevin Fowler. Each will do an hour-long acoustic set. To be sure social distancing rules are followed, organizers say only 400 vehicles will be let in — and fans must stay in their cars the whole time. As for the music, it will come in through the vehicles’ FM radio systems.
