MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Admission to Vermont state parks and historic sites is free this weekend during the annual Vermont Days.

The Vermont History Museum was also free on Saturday.

"Vermont Days is a great opportunity to get out and explore the state, especially this year when we are all looking forward to spending time with friends and family again,” said Heather Pelham, commissioner of the Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing, in a written statement. “This weekend also invites people to try something new and discover the amazing experiences available at our State Historic Sites and State Parks."

Walk-in clinics for COVID-19 vaccinations are also being held at numerous state parks around Vermont this weekend, as the state nears the threshold of 80% of the eligible population getting at least one dose of vaccine.
