Forget about flowers and chocolates. Lindsey Vonn opted to go about Valentine's Day by courting the new-fashioned way: via Twitter.
The U.S. ski racer, who owns two Olympic medals already and is scheduled to start competing at the Pyeongchang Games next weekend, took to the social media app with something of a plaintive plea, asking, "Anyone else out there single and want to be my valentine?"
And since every worthwhile tweet requires a creative hashtag, she added, "#worthashot."

Not surprisingly, the message immediately grabbed attention, garnering more than 1,500 replies and more than 4,500 likes within several hours.
Vonn is divorced -- something she mentioned during her pre-Olympics news conference last week, explaining that it's why she likes to travel with her dog, Lucy -- and famously dated Tiger Woods for about three years.
The 33-year-old Vonn won a gold medal in the downhill and a bronze in the super-G at the 2010 Vancouver Games, then missed the 2014 Sochi Olympics after knee surgery.
Her first race in South Korea is scheduled to be the super-G on Saturday, followed by the downhill next week.
