JERRY STILLER DIES
NEW YORK (AP) — A comedy icon has died. Jerry Stiller is dead of natural causes at age 92. News of his death was tweeted by his son, Ben Stiller — a comedian in his own right. Jerry Stiller launched his show business career as half of a comedy duo with his wife, Anne Meara. Viewers of a more recent age will remember him as Frank Costanza on “Seinfeld,” originator of “Festivus,” the holiday he declared “for the rest of us.” He also played the comedy foil to Kevin James’ character in “King of Queens.”

JAY Z GROUP SEEKS JUSTICE IN GA.
ATLANTA (AP) — Jay Z is calling on the state of Georgia to make sure there are no conflicts of interest in handling the case of a black man shot to death as he ran along a road. The rap star’s justice group says authorities should appoint a special prosecutor to handle the investigation into the death of Ahmaud Arbery. Authorities have charged two white men in the murder of the unarmed black who was confronted as he was running in February. But no arrests were made and no charges filed — until a videotape of the shooting was leaked to the public.

BETTY WRIGHT DIES
MIAMI (AP) — The singer who gave us the musical warning about the “Clean Up Woman” has died. Betty Wright was 66 — and is best known for her 1971 hit about women who pick off men who feel they’ve been mistreated. Interestingly, Wright recorded the song when she was just 17. As her recording career fades, she set up her own record label — and mentored budding artists. Among those who tweeted to thank her for that are John Legend and Ledisi.

LITTLE RICHARD REMEMBERED, MOURNED
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Little Richard used to brag that he taught a lot of music stars how to captivate an audience. And many of those same artists agree. Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney and others say they went to school on Little Richard to learn how to work a crowd. Also paying tribute to Little Richard as an influence are Elton John and Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. Little Richard died Saturday in Tennessee. He was 87 and had bone cancer.

IS WATCHING COVID-19 NEWS HAZARDOUS TO HEALTH?
NEW YORK (AP) — Some people who watch a lot of news about the new coronavirus may end up feeling ill — but not because of COVID-19. A new survey finds some people watching heavy doses of coronavirus news can make themselves sick with worry or anxiety. The Pew Research Center survey taken last month says of those Americans who said they regularly watch news on the pandemic, 71 percent they need to cut back on viewing for the sake of their mental or emotional well-being.

SHANGHAI DISNEYLAND REOPENS
SHANGHAI (AP) — Mickey Mouse ears — and face masks. They were the order of the day for many visitors — as Disneyland in Shanghai reopened today. It’s a sign of a return to normal for China, where the coronavirus outbreak began late last year. The park’s been closed since late January — and even as it reopens, there are signs things aren’t fully back to normal. Some attractions are closed to create the kind of social distancing health officials say is needed to keep people safe.
